Inverse is seeking an SEO/Data Analyst to be a part of extending the growing reach of our publication. The ideal candidate has experience working at an online publication and is familiar with search engine optimization best practices and data analysis, is comfortable with Excel, and constantly seeking out the stories within the data.
The successful applicant will work with the Inverse team out of our SoHo office. He or she will be a part of ensuring our best work reaches the most people by using data to inform SEO strategy, audience building, social media practices, outreach, and editorial decisions.
Weekly tasks and responsibilities will include the following:
Complete daily and weekly analytics reports on search and site traffic, social channels, and video
Assist with keyword research and trending topics to inform our search strategy
Assist the audience development and editorial teams with SEO calendars
Provide research and analysis around audience insights, content performance, site analytics, and industry trends
Monitor and report on webmaster tool errors, sitemaps, and crawl issues
Make recommendations to audience, editorial and product teams based on data
Monitor industry changes in SEO and social and translate those into actionable recommendations
Work closely with the editorial and audience teams to ensure as much content as possible is search engine optimized before publication
Develop and conduct training sessions on SEO best practices for editorial team
Assist paid distribution efforts through Facebook advertising
Experience executing effective SEO practices for a publication
Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO
Minimum 2 years work experience in digital media
Skilled with Excel and data analytics
Experience with Google Analytics and link research tools
Strong analytical skills
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
